Challenge: Challenges with Motion Shopify Theme
ROAM Wild Travel was exploring the best Shopify themes to find the optimal fit for their business needs. They ultimately decided to migrate from the Motion Shopify theme to the more flexible Pipeline Shopify theme to improve site performance, scalability, and customization, all while preserving the existing design and luxury user experience.
The website contained numerous high-resolution images, particularly in sliders, captured with professional cameras. Large file sizes significantly slowed page loading, negatively impacting the user experience, and some images exceeded Shopify’s 20 MB upload limit. Optimizing image handling and overall site performance was therefore critical.
Another significant challenge was ensuring accurate migration of product data, as product pages relied heavily on dynamic content stored in Shopify metafields, and collection pages required updated filters to enhance product discovery.

To address performance issues, we optimized all high-resolution images for different screen sizes and implemented lazy load images HTML, resizing, and compression.
