Privacy Policy — VT Labs: AI Market Translate
Effective: 25 October 2021 · Last updated: 15 October 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to VT Labs: AI Market Translate (formerly "Metafields Translator", "the Service"), an app built by VT Labs Ltd ("the Company"). The App provides management, translation, and market adaptation of store content — including products, metafields, and metaobjects — to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores ("the App"). In the Shopify App Store, the App may appear under a localized name ("VT Labs: KI Markt Übersetzung", "VT Labs: Traduction IA Marchés", "VT Labs: Traducción IA Mercado"); all names refer to the same Service.
We respect and protect the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy describes how information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.
Store Data the App Accesses
When you install the App, you grant it access to certain data in your Shopify store through Shopify's API, limited to the following:
Products, variants, and their metafields (read/write);
Metaobjects and metaobject definitions (read/write);
Store content: pages, blog posts, navigation, and theme content (read/write);
Translations and store languages/locales (read/write);
Markets settings (read/write);
Files (read/write);
Legal policy pages (read only).
The App uses this access solely to display, translate, and save translations and adaptations of your store content. The App does not request or access customer data or order data.
Personal Information We Collect
Once you have installed the App, we collect the following types of personal information from you and/or others who access the App on behalf of your store: such as your name, address, email address, phone number, and billing information, as provided through your Shopify account.
Cookies
When you use the App or visit our website, we may collect information such as your IP address, web browser details, time zone, and information about the cookies installed on your device.

"Log files" track actions occurring in the App and on our website, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
How Do We Use Your Information?
We use the information we collect in order to provide the Service and to operate the App.
Additionally, we use this information to:
Communicate with you;

Provide you with information relating to our products or services.
Sharing Your Information
We will not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties outside of the Company without your consent, except in the following ways:
We may share your personal data to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Translation Processing
To produce translations and adaptations, the App transmits the store text you choose to translate to third-party AI and translation providers acting as our processors (currently DeepL, Google Cloud Translation, OpenAI, and Anthropic). These providers process this content only to provide translation and related language features, such as glossary generation. Your customers' personal data is not sent to these providers.
